Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 22, 2026
Muay Thai Timer is built by an independent developer. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the app.
Summary
Muay Thai Timer does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your data, with one exception: if you choose to use the optional Send Feedback feature, the message you write is transmitted to the developer. There are no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking of any kind. Everything else the app stores lives only on your device.
Data stored on your device
The app stores the following locally, using Apple's on-device SwiftData framework:
- Your saved workout presets (rounds, round length, break length, warning time)
- Your workout history (completed workouts and their settings)
- Your app settings (theme, sound choices, voice announcement preference)
None of this data ever leaves your device, is transmitted to the developer, or is shared with any third party. If you back up your device via iCloud or iTunes/Finder, this data may be included in that backup — that's standard iOS device backup behavior, governed by Apple's own privacy practices, not something this app controls or has access to.
Microphone and Speech Recognition
When naming a preset or writing a feedback message, you can optionally tap a microphone button to dictate the text instead of typing it. If you use this feature:
- The app requests microphone and speech recognition permission from iOS.
- Your voice is processed by Apple's Speech Recognition service (on-device when your device supports it, otherwise securely by Apple's servers) to convert it to text.
- The resulting text is used only to fill in the field you dictated into. The developer does not receive, see, or store your audio.
- This feature is entirely optional — you can always type instead and never grant microphone or speech recognition access.
Apple's handling of Speech Recognition requests is covered by Apple's own privacy policy.
Send Feedback
Settings includes an optional Send Feedback screen. If you use it, the message you write — along with your device model, iOS version, and app version, to help diagnose issues — is sent to the developer over a secure connection to be read and, if you'd like a response, replied to by email. This is the only data the app ever transmits off your device, and it only happens if you choose to write and send a message.
Notifications
The app schedules local notifications entirely on your device to alert you to round/break transitions if you background the app during a workout. These are local, on-device notifications — no push notification server or external service is involved, and no data is sent anywhere to schedule or deliver them.
Live Activities (Lock Screen / Dynamic Island)
When you start a workout, the app displays a Live Activity showing your current round/break and time remaining on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. This content is generated and updated entirely on your device.
Children's privacy
Muay Thai Timer is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from children.
